Côte d’Ivoire’s Opposition Calls for Dialogue Ahead of 2025 Presidential Election

Opposition parties in Côte d’Ivoire are urging the government to engage in meaningful political dialogue to ensure transparency and inclusivity as the country approaches its October 2025 presidential election.

With political activities intensifying following the voter register revision in November 2024, the call for reforms has become a focal point in the nation’s discourse.

In their New Year messages, opposition leaders Tidjane Thiam of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI) and Pascal Affi N’Guessan of the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) emphasized the importance of peaceful elections and national unity.

Both leaders highlighted the need for reforms to strengthen trust in the electoral process, urging all stakeholders to prioritize collaboration over division.

As the electoral year begins, political observers note that the coming months will be critical for fostering stability and democratic integrity in Côte d’Ivoire.
