Africa Cup of Nations Draw Set to Officially Launch 2025 Tournament.

The draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place in Rabat, Morocco, marking the official start of preparations for the tournament.

This flagship competition is scheduled to begin in late December 2025, and will bring together the delegations of the 24 qualified teams who will discover their opponents.

They will be divided into six groups of four while the two best of each group and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the round of 16 of the tournament.

Among the qualified countries, historic teams such as Egypt (7 titles), Cameroon (5 titles) and Ivory Coast (3 titles), which will try to retain the trophy won at home in 2023. Morocco, semi-finalist of the last World Cup, will aim for a second title after its victory in 1976.

The other qualified nations also include former African champions such as Algeria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Senegal.
In addition to aiming for the continental trophy, Morocco, which had not hosted the CAN since the final phase of 1988, aims to achieve a good organization.
