At Least 30 Passengers Burnt Beyond Recognition in Tragic Road Crash in Nigeria’s Ondo State

At least 30 lives were lost in a devastating road crash in Ondo State, north-west Nigeria.

The accident, involving two commercial buses, occurred over the weekend on the Benin-Ore-Ijebu Ode Expressway in the Onipetesi community, Odigbo Local Government Area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the collision caused both vehicles to catch fire, leaving many passengers burnt beyond recognition.

The State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Samuel Ibitoye, confirmed that both buses were fully loaded. Following the crash, at least 28 occupants died instantly, while two others succumbed to severe injuries.

The two survivors are reportedly receiving treatment for their injuries.
