Burkina Faso Intensifies Anti-Corruption Efforts with New Regulatory Commission

Burkina Faso’s transitional president, Captain Ibrahim TraorĂ©, held a meeting on Monday with the newly installed members of the Orientation Council of the Commission for the Regulation of Dysfunctions (CRD) in Ouagadougou.

The meeting forms part of his administration’s intensified fight against corruption.

Special Advisor to the President on Good Governance and Anti-Corruption, Ragnang-newindé Isidore Tiemtore, stated that this audience follows the formal installation of the Orientation Council members on October 26.

Established by the Council of Ministers on July 24, 2024, and operating under the Office of the Head of State, the CRD’s core objectives include:

Identifying and addressing dysfunctions within public administrations. Monitoring the enforcement of judicial and administrative sanctions.

President Traoré reiterated his commitment to eradicating corruption, which he described as a significant obstacle to national development.

He urged the council members to foster behavioral change, translating their initiatives into concrete actions that will directly benefit the citizens of Burkina Faso.
