Burkina Faso Trade Unions Condemn Repressive Measures Against Press Freedom

Trade union centers in Burkina Faso have expressed their outrage over the current state of press freedom and the right to information in the country.

They claim that the fight against terrorism is being used as a pretext for implementing repressive measures against both the press and citizens.

The unions are alarmed by what they perceive as a systematic erosion of press freedom under the guise of national security concerns.

They argue that this approach not only stifles the media but also undermines citizens’ fundamental right to information.

In response, the trade union centers are calling for a collective outcry against these attacks.

They urge the public, media professionals, and international bodies to join in denouncing the ongoing repression and to advocate for the protection of press freedom and the right to information in Burkina Faso.
