Burkinabe Transitional President Captain Ibrahim Traoré dissolved the transitional government on Friday through a decree announced on national television.
The decree also terminated the role of Prime Minister Me Apollinaire Kyélem de Tambèla, effectively ending the government’s tenure.
The outgoing ministers will manage current affairs until a new government is appointed. Kyélem’s administration, formed on October 25, 2022, included 23 members, initially composed of three military officials and five carryovers from the previous government.
Over its term, the government underwent four reshuffles, the most recent in August 2024, reflecting ongoing adjustments during the transitional period.
