Chad’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Abderaman Koulamallah, has received a preliminary report from a 25-member international election observer delegation regarding the December 29, 2024, polls.
The observers, led by Dr. Zalikatou Diallo and Aissata Daffé, commended the peaceful conduct of the elections, a notable milestone in Chad’s democratic progress, while identifying areas for improvement in the electoral process.
The delegation monitored all stages of the elections, offering recommendations to strengthen transparency and inclusivity. Minister Koulamallah welcomed the feedback, affirming Chad’s commitment to implementing necessary electoral reforms.
The provisional results, expected on January 15, mark a crucial step in Chad’s efforts to bolster democracy and ensure credible governance.
