Côte d’Ivoire and Canada Sign Trade Agreement to Boost Cooperation

The Ivorian government signed a trade agreement with Canada on August 19, 2024, in Abidjan.

The signing ceremony was attended by Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly and Ivorian Foreign Minister Wautabouna Ouattara, representing their respective countries.

The agreement is designed to strengthen trade cooperation in various sectors, including infrastructure, transport, energy, health, housing, education, agriculture, and green energy.

As part of this partnership, Canada is contributing 69 billion FCFA to support Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan.

During the signing, both ministers emphasized the significance of this partnership in addressing global challenges and fostering mutual benefits.

They also celebrated the establishment of the Canada-Côte d’Ivoire Chamber of Commerce, which aims to further enhance trade relations between the two nations.
