Côte d’Ivoire’s PDCI Summons Jean Louis Billon Over Presidential Ambitions

The Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI) has summoned Jean Louis Billon to appear before its disciplinary committee following his public declaration of intent to contest the 2025 presidential election.

The move underscores tensions within the party as it navigates its internal processes to select a candidate.

Speaking at a press conference, PDCI spokesperson Bredoumi Soumaïla confirmed that the party plans to hold a convention soon to formally choose its flagbearer for the upcoming election.

Billon’s announcement has sparked debate within party ranks, as the PDCI seeks to present a united front in its bid to reclaim power.
