Foreign Affairs Minister-Designate Defends President Mahama’s Alliance with AES

Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister-designate, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reaffirmed President Mahama’s diplomatic strategy for addressing the Sahel crisis, emphasizing Ghana’s commitment to regional stability.

Speaking before Parliament’s appointment committee, Ablakwa stated that the administration’s approach aligns with national interests and the goal of sustaining regional integration.

Despite Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger’s recent exit from ECOWAS, he assured that Ghana remains committed to keeping diplomatic channels open with its Sahelian neighbors.

Officials believe sustained dialogue is essential for preserving cooperation and tackling security and economic challenges in the region.
