Former Malian transitional Prime Minister Choguel Kokalla Maïga has refuted allegations of financial mismanagement detailed in a report by the Office of the Auditor General.
Speaking during his New Year’s address, Maïga labeled the accusations as unfounded and politically motivated.
While criticizing the current administration for what he described as arbitrary arrests, Maïga reaffirmed his support for the military-led government.
He stressed the importance of accountability and stability during Mali’s transitional period.
The statement comes as governance practices in Mali face increased scrutiny.
