More than a thousand former beneficiaries of Ghana’s Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) initiative are threatening to stage a protest at the Jubilee House, the country’s presidency, just one week before the December 7 general elections.
The protest stems from their frustration over unpaid allowances, which have been in arrears for nine months.
In a petition co-signed by key organizers David Peterson, Nana Tachie Eric, Deborah Enam Sogbey, and Nana Berimah Asamoah, the trainees called on the National Peace Council to intervene and pressure the government to settle their overdue payments, which have been pending since 2021.
