Fuel Truck Explosion in Northwestern Nigeria Kills 90, Injures 50

At least 90 people were killed and 50 others injured when a fuel truck exploded along the Kano-Hadejia expressway in Jigawa state, northwestern Nigeria.

The explosion occurred late Tuesday night in the Taura Local Government Area and continued into the early hours of Wednesday.

Police spokesman Lawan Adamu confirmed that the tanker triggered a massive fire that burned until around 3:15 a.m. local time.

Emergency services responded quickly, transporting injured victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the explosion, which has left the community devastated.
