Gambian President Adama Barrow engaged in dialogue with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, marking a resumption after a two-decade hiatus.
According to a statement from the Ukrainian government, the phone call aimed not only to strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and The Gambia but also to bolster global food stability.
In a video address, Zelenskyy noted Ukraine’s crucial role as a major guarantor of food security for Africa and the world.
Ukraine has long been renowned for its contributions to global food security, particularly through its significant grain exports.
This conversation between the two leaders comes as both countries navigate complex geopolitical landscapes and reaffirm their commitments to global stability.
