The Gambia’s National Human Rights Commission held its inaugural National Stakeholders Dialogue on Mental Health Rights on Tuesday, highlighting the challenges faced by individuals with mental health disorders.
The dialogue aimed to raise awareness about the impact of mental health conditions and the human rights violations often experienced by those affected.
During the event, the commission stressed the critical need for inclusive policies and legal frameworks to safeguard the rights of individuals living with mental health challenges and to improve their access to quality care.
