Gambian Vice President Responds to Concerns Over Presidential Fleet

The Gambian Vice President, Muhammed B.S. Jallow, addressed Parliament to clarify concerns about President Adama Barrow’s use of government vehicles during official travels.

Speaking during an oral session, VP Jallow emphasized that the president does not personally select the vehicles but adheres to arrangements made by relevant government departments responsible for his security and protocol.

The clarification follows growing public criticism over the extensive fleet accompanying the president during visits outside Banjul, which some perceive as excessive.

VP Jallow’s remarks aimed to provide transparency and assure citizens that the practice aligns with operational directives rather than personal preference.
