The Ghanaian government has officially announced the removal of visa requirements for all African passport holders.
President Akufo-Addo revealed this milestone during a press briefing, fulfilling a promise made at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues.
The policy is expected to significantly boost tourism, trade, and travel to Ghana, addressing visa restrictions long seen as barriers to economic growth and regional cooperation.
With this move, Ghana joins countries like Rwanda, Seychelles, The Gambia, and Benin in offering visa-free access to all African passport holders.
Previously, Ghana granted visa-free access to nationals of 26 African countries and visas on arrival for citizens of 25 others. Only travelers from two African nations were required to obtain a visa before visiting.
