The Ghana Police Service has issued a stern warning to individuals planning to disrupt the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections, emphasizing that such attempts will not be tolerated.
During a press briefing on the country’s readiness for the polls, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare declared there would be “no hiding place” for anyone attempting to interfere with the electoral process.
Dr. Dampare highlighted that the security plan for the 2024 General Elections is the culmination of two years of meticulous preparation.
He described it as a groundbreaking framework, designed not only to address immediate election security needs but also to set a standard for the next 30 years.
The IGP assured the public that the election taskforce is prepared to act decisively to maintain law and order on Election Day.
He also revealed that the police are collaborating closely with the Electoral Commission (EC) to strengthen security at collation centers nationwide.
