The Government of Ghana is preparing to launch a revised cybersecurity strategy in October to combat the growing cyber threats facing the nation.
According to the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization, the initiative aims to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity framework, following its recognition by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in 2020 as the third-highest in Africa.
Kwame Baah-Acheamfour, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry, announced at the ITU and Interpol Cyber Drill Conference for Africa in Accra that the updated strategy has received Cabinet approval and is set for launch next month.
The National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy outlines a comprehensive plan to build a resilient digital ecosystem, safeguard digital infrastructure, enhance national capacity, combat cybercrime, and boost international cooperation.
