Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) has announced its readiness for the Special Voting Exercise ahead of the 2024 General Election, scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024.
The exercise, designed for groups such as journalists and security personnel who will be on duty on December 7, will take place at 276 polling stations nationwide.
During a meeting with the National Election Security Task Force, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa confirmed that preparations for the early voting process are complete.
She revealed that ballot papers for the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions were dispatched on Tuesday, November 26, with deliveries to other regions underway.
Looking ahead to the December 7 main election, Mensa reported that 95% of ballot papers and biometric machines have already been distributed, ensuring readiness for the critical voting day.
