Ghana’s Electoral Commission Releases Ballot Statistics Ahead of 2024 Elections

Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the publication of ballot statistics in preparation for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

The update was made in a press statement released on Monday, October 14, 2024, signed by Deputy EC Chairperson, Samuel Tettey.

The EC stated that this step is aimed at ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the electoral process by providing critical data in advance.

The Commission considered the total number of voters on the Provisional Voter’s Register (PVR), with an additional two percent increase factored in to account for potential growth in voter registration and participation.

This proactive measure is designed to ensure that there are enough ballots for all eligible voters, reducing the risk of shortages or discrepancies on election day.

While the EC is encouraging total voter turnout, it acknowledges that not every registered voter may cast their ballot.
