Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has called for increased efforts to tackle the troubling security situation in the Sahel and parts of West Africa.
President Akufo-Addo emphasized the need for a robust response during a meeting with United States Deputy Secretary Kurt Campbell at the Jubilee House in Accra.
During their discussions, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the escalating security challenges in the region, including terrorism, armed conflicts, and instability, which are affecting several West African nations.
He stressed the importance of international cooperation and support in addressing these issues to ensure peace and stability.
Deputy Secretary Campbell’s visit to Ghana is part of a broader four-nation tour, which will conclude in the United Kingdom.
The tour aims to discuss critical issues such as democracy, trade, and technological innovations with key international partners.
