Ghana’s President-Elect Embarks on Diplomatic Tour to Benin, Togo, and Nigeria

Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has completed a diplomatic tour aimed at strengthening relations with neighboring countries, visiting Benin, Togo, and Nigeria.

In Benin, Mahama met with President Patrice Talon to discuss enhancing economic and political collaboration between the two nations.

His visit to Togo included talks with President Faure Gnassingbé, focusing on opportunities for deeper cooperation.

The tour concluded in Nigeria, where Mahama held discussions with President Bola Tinubu, Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State.

Their dialogue emphasized shared priorities for regional growth and stability, underscoring the importance of unity within ECOWAS.

Mahama also extended a formal invitation to President Tinubu to attend his inauguration on January 7, 2025, further cementing Ghana’s commitment to fostering regional ties.
