The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), in collaboration with Afripol, has wrapped up a major operation targeting cybercrime, resulting in the arrest of more than 1,000 suspects across 19 countries, including several in West Africa.
Conducted between September 2 and October 31, the operation involved extensive coordination among police forces across the continent.
It addressed various cyber-related offenses, including fraud, online scams, and identity theft.
Authorities hailed the operation as a significant milestone in the fight against cybercrime and emphasized the critical role of international collaboration in ensuring the success of such large-scale efforts.
