IQRA Bilingual Academy Inspires Students During 2024 Career Week

The IQRA Bilingual Academy wrapped up its highly anticipated Career Week last Friday, leaving students inspired and motivated to explore diverse career paths.

The week-long event, held at the school’s premises, in the Senegalese capital Dakar featured an array of activities aimed at guiding students in making informed career choices.

Career Week 2024 brought together professionals from various fields, including medicine, law, engineering, arts, entrepreneurship, and technology, to share their experiences and insights with students.

Through interactive sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, the event provided an opportunity for students to engage with experts and explore career paths aligned with their passions and talents.

The highlight of the week was a career fair, where organizations and institutions set up booths showcasing opportunities in education, internships, and future employment.

Students were encouraged to ask questions, network, and gather valuable information to aid in their career planning.

In her keynote address, the founder of IQRA Bilingual Academy Nieshaakema James – Sarr emphasized the importance of early career guidance. “Our goal is to prepare students not just academically, but also to empower them to make informed decisions about their futures. Events like Career Week are crucial in bridging the gap between education and the professional world,” she said.

A student participant Amadou Thiam expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “I learned so much about careers I didn’t even know existed. Hearing directly from professionals has given me a new perspective and helped me narrow down my interests.”

The event also featured workshops on resume writing, public speaking, and leadership skills, ensuring that students were equipped with practical tools to succeed in any field they choose. Parents were invited to participate in some of the sessions, further strengthening the school’s collaborative approach to career development.

The successful conclusion of the 2024 Career Week  some of the teachers, Jafaru and Nfisa said underscores IQRA Bilingual Academy’s commitment to holistic education.

By combining academic excellence with career-oriented programs, the school continues to empower its students to become future leaders and innovators in their chosen fields.
