Ivorian Government to Bolster Vehicle Fleet with Arrival of Nearly 300 New Buses

The Ivorian government has announced the arrival of nearly 300 new buses and a dozen water buses by the end of December as part of an initiative to strengthen the country’s vehicle fleet.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Transport, Amadou Koné, in response to the current challenges facing the transportation sector.

Minister Koné highlighted the immobility of several existing buses, attributing the main causes to acts of vandalism, breakdowns, and traffic accidents. Out of the nearly 2,053 vehicles in the fleet, only approximately 629 are currently operational.

The introduction of new buses and water buses is expected to enhance the efficiency and reliability of public transportation in Ivory Coast.

This initiative aims to improve mobility for citizens and reduce the strain on the existing fleet, addressing the critical issues that have hampered transportation services.
