Liberia, Gambia, and Sierra Leone Sign Landmark Roaming Agreement

Liberia, Gambia, and Sierra Leone have signed a landmark roaming agreement aimed at reducing telecommunications costs and enhancing cross-border connectivity.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed in Freetown, enables travelers to make calls, send SMS, and use mobile data at local rates without the need to switch SIM cards.

This initiative is expected to improve communication for businesses and citizens, fostering economic cooperation and greater digital accessibility across the three nations.

Officials have hailed the agreement as a key milestone in strengthening regional ties, with implementation already underway.

The move is anticipated to lower telecom expenses, encourage trade, and drive digital inclusion for millions in West Africa.
