Liberia Launches ARREST Agenda for Economic Diversification and Social Progress

Liberia’s Ministry of Finance and Development Planning is set to unveil the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, a National Development Plan aimed at accelerating economic growth and social progress.

Scheduled for launch by the end of November, the ARREST Agenda focuses on diversifying Liberia’s economy, with a strong emphasis on tourism as a driver of private investment.

Key stakeholders from government, civil society, academia, youth organizations, and the business community recently met at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex to validate the draft plan, marking a critical milestone in finalizing this ambitious roadmap.

Finance Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan highlighted the validation meeting as essential for ensuring the plan’s alignment with Liberia’s national goals.

The ARREST Agenda aims to strengthen governance and significantly improve the education and healthcare sectors, with an emphasis on inclusive development that addresses educational challenges from early childhood to higher learning and tackles healthcare accessibility.

Upon its launch, the agenda will guide Liberia’s strategy for achieving sustained economic and social advancement.
