Liberian authorities have arrested Lena Orondo, a 37-year-old Kenyan national, at Roberts International Airport for attempting to traffic 8.642 kilograms of heroin, valued at $388,890.
Orondo was detained upon arrival on Ethiopian Airlines flight ETA 933, which transited through Addis Ababa from Thailand before reaching Liberia.
During initial questioning, she revealed that a Nigerian individual named Alex had instructed her to deliver the drugs to a consignee, Able Somah, in Monrovia.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the drug network, with efforts underway to track other suspects involved in the operation.
