Mali’s Supreme Court Postpones Trial of Former Finance Minister

The Supreme Court of Mali has indefinitely postponed the trial of Bouaré Fily Sissoko, a former Minister of Economy and Finance, who has been detained for over three years.

Sissoko faces charges of corruption and mismanagement of public funds linked to the procurement of a presidential aircraft and military equipment valued at approximately 130 billion CFA Francs.

On November 13, the court rejected her latest request for provisional release, extending her detention as legal proceedings remain stalled.

The indefinite delay raises concerns about the judicial process and the prolonged detention of the former minister.
