NDLEA Destroys Cannabis Plantation in Northern Nigeria, Intercepts Drugs Nationwide

Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its crackdown on drug-related activities across the country. In a major operation, the agency destroyed a cannabis plantation in Kano State, located in the northern region of Nigeria.

During the raid, a 45-year-old suspect, Sabo Ali Muhammad, was arrested on the farm. In another operation, five suspects were apprehended, with 13.1kg of skunk and 125 liters of “suck and die,” a new psychoactive substance, recovered from them.

In Lagos, NDLEA operatives intercepted a consignment of Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, concealed in duvets and packaged for export to the United Kingdom. The seizure was made at the cargo shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja.

Further nationwide operations led to the arrest of two suspects in a local community. Their hideout was raided, and seven liters of Skuchies, a psychoactive substance made from black currant, cannabis, and opioids, were recovered.
