Nigerian Drug Law Agency Partners NAFDAC to Combat Drug Abuse

The Nigerian National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance operational efficiency, protect public health, and ensure community safety.

Speaking at the event, NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa emphasized the importance of the renewed partnership in addressing substance abuse across Nigeria.

He highlighted that the collaboration would bolster efforts to combat the dual challenges of drug abuse and counterfeit products.

NAFDAC Director-General Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye underlined the critical role of the partnership in tackling illicit drug trafficking, substance abuse, and broader public health issues.

She noted the significant links between drug abuse and rising incidents of violence, terrorism, and banditry in the country.

Prof. Adeyeye further called for similar collaborations with other agencies to strengthen the nationwide fight against drug-related challenges.
