Nigerian State Governors Urge Calm Amid Economic and Security Concerns

A meeting of the 36 state governors in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, concluded with an urgent appeal for calm in the face of growing concerns over the country’s economic and security situation.

The closed-door meeting, held on Wednesday, aimed to address the impending nationwide protest scheduled for August, as well as the deteriorating economic and security conditions.

The governors discussed strategies to mitigate the impact of the current crises and emphasized the need for a unified approach to tackle these challenges.

They expressed their commitment to working collaboratively with the federal government to find sustainable solutions that would alleviate the economic hardships faced by many Nigerians and enhance security across the nation.

In their joint statement, the governors called on citizens to remain peaceful and patient while efforts are being made to address the pressing issues.

They assured the public that steps are being taken to stabilize the economy and improve security measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all Nigerians.
