President Biya Appoints New Judges to Strengthen Cameroon’s Military Courts

Cameroonian President Paul Biya has appointed new judges to the military courts across the country, as part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s military judicial system.

The appointments, announced on Tuesday, affect the military courts in Ebolowa, Garoua, Maroua, and Ngaoundéré.

These newly appointed magistrates will be responsible for overseeing the functioning of military justice within their respective regions.

Their role will be pivotal in maintaining the rule of law, particularly as Cameroon faces numerous security challenges, notably in the English-speaking regions.

The timing of these appointments suggests an effort to bolster military justice in order to address insecurity while ensuring respect for human rights.

The official details of the appointments were outlined in a document released on Tuesday.
