The countries of the Confederation of Sahel States have officially announced the development of a telecommunications and remote sensing satellite.
This groundbreaking project was revealed during a ministerial meeting held yesterday, Monday, in Bamako.
Led by a Russian company, the satellite will play a critical role in enhancing national security within the Alliance of the Sahel States (AES) space.
The primary focus of the project is to provide satellite images for state border surveillance, enabling more effective monitoring and security measures across the region.
The satellite is expected to support not only security efforts but also improve telecommunications infrastructure, contributing to the economic and technological development of the AES countries.
Further details on the timeline and implementation of the project are expected in the coming months.
