Senegal’s Ad-Hoc Committee Completes Review of MP Farba Ngom’s Immunity Case

Senegal’s ad-hoc parliamentary committee has concluded its deliberations on the case of MP Mouhamadou Ngom, widely known as Farba Ngom, in relation to the possible lifting of his parliamentary immunity.

The review follows a request from the Ministry of Justice amid allegations of money laundering, which have stirred significant political controversy.

Aissata Tall Sall, president of the Takku Wallu Sénégal parliamentary group and Farba Ngom’s representative, criticized the process, stating that the charges against the MP remain vague and lack substantial clarity.

The outcome of the committee’s work is expected to influence the next steps in the legal proceedings, as public and political scrutiny continues to grow over the high-profile case.

Further developments are anticipated as authorities weigh the evidence and decide on the matter.
