Unemployed Allied Health Professionals in Ghana Demand Government Action on Delayed Postings

Unemployed allied health professionals in Ghana are raising concerns over the government’s prolonged delay in posting them to health institutions across the country.

On September 16, members of the coalition, led by Frederick Adjei, staged a picket at the Ministry of Health, calling for immediate action.

The group is now threatening to escalate their protests into a nationwide demonstration if their demands are not met.

Their primary concern is securing financial clearance for the 2019 to 2023 batches, who have yet to receive official placements.

Many of the professionals feel sidelined by the Ministry of Health, believing that other health sectors are being prioritized. “We’re tired of paying to renew our licenses without being able to use them,” Adjei expressed in frustration.

The coalition is also seeking answers on the future of allied health professionals in Ghana, questioning whether their roles are still considered essential.
