Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has pledged a renewed partnership with Burkina Faso, emphasizing collaboration in key sectors to foster peace and development.
The promise came during a meeting with Burkinabe Transitional President Captain Ibrahim Traoré, held a day after Mahama’s inauguration.
President Mahama expressed Ghana’s solidarity with Burkina Faso amidst ongoing terrorist threats, committing to work together for the restoration of peace. “Without peace, there cannot be development,” he stated.
The leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties in strategic areas, including railway development, security, sports, and education, aimed at stimulating the economies of both nations.
Captain Traoré’s attendance at Mahama’s inauguration in Accra on Monday was described by the Ghanaian leader as an “honor,” reflecting the close relationship between the two West African neighbors.
This meeting underscores the commitment of both countries to foster regional stability and economic cooperation in the face of shared challenges.
